A couple months back, I was presented with the opportunity to become one of Clozette’s Beauty Ambassador and key opinion leaders. Clozette is Singapore’s leading fashion and beauty social network for women. The first project as a beauty ambassador was to try out some SK-II products for a period of 14 days.
As a skincare and beauty fanatic, I was beyond thrilled because it was SK-II, a brand that I have been a fan of for 8 years, almost as long as SK-II has been in Singapore. My loyalty to SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence is definitely commendable given that it is the next longest relationship I have with any product or person (apart from my hubby)!
The journey started with a visit to the SK-II counter for the signature SK-II Magic Ring test. I had to first fill up a form detailing my current skincare regime. This will help the beauty assistant perform a thorough test and assessment of my skin condition and needs. Followed by placing the ring against one side of my face. This can be done with or without makeup and results will be just as accurate because there is an option to choose “with makeup on” prior to doing the test.

The SK-II Magic Ring was a pretty nifty little tool. It has the ability to map out your skin condition in several categories – Texture Refinement, Radiance Enhancement, Spot Control, Wrinkle Resilience, and Firmness Power.

I was most impressed with the section which tested for spots. Age spots, sun spots, any dark spots on the skin is unsightly and a definite tell-tale sign of a woman’s age. The Magic Ring was able to capture the spots on my face – not only the ones on the surface but also the ones that are tucked away in the epidermis waiting for their turn to reach the surface >_<
I apparently have 4 visible spots and a whopping 52 invisible spots!!! We went a step further to analyse the depth of those 52 spots. Thankfully, they were all deep in the epidermis and will not be seeing the light anytime soon. This is the best time to start using some specific whitening serums to prolong the invisibility of these 52 spots.

On average, I scored pretty well overall and in most departments with the exception of Texture Refinement due to dryness and dehydration.

The SK-II beauty assistant then went on to recommend me the full range of SK-II products that are recommended for my skin following the skin analysis. Over the last 8 years, I have tried almost the entire range of SK-II from cleanser, toner, essence, moisturiser and sunblock. Of the entire recommended range, I was most excited to try out the Skin Signature Eye cream since it is one product I have not tried.
I also picked up some samples for products that I do not own the full sized items and embarked on my 14 day journey.

I have really been loving how my face has a natural glow and aura from using the Cellumination Essence EX (been getting compliments from my friends) and also the skin signature eye cream. Shall do a standalone feature on the eye cream in the near future because this stuff is THAT good!

As seen in my previous post here, I also participated in filming 2 promotional contest videos for Clozette featuring SK-II products. Although I have been filming my own Youtube videos for a while now, it was a totally different experience (in a good way) filming videos with a professional crew and lighting. Albeit stressful, resulting in many NGs and re-memorizing of script. Thankfully, the Clozette team were ever so patient and helpful that the entire experience was not only fun but also very memorable. Thank you Shn and Jessey!
